Made the Long Way
Eleven hands, one box.
Each Darzai box passes through eleven artisans before it carries our mark — joiners in Essaouira, brass-cutters in Fes, gilders in Marrakech.
No shortcuts. No machines. Only patience, and the slow grain of cedar drying for thirty days.
The wood
Sixty years underground.
Burl root forms slowly at the foot of the thuya tree, often over six decades, hidden beneath the soil. It alone carries the marbled grain and dark eyes you see on our boxes

Every piece begins in our design studio, where we draw the proportions, the inlays and the hardware down to the millimetre. The plans then travel to our ateliers in Morocco, where artisans bring the object to life — the precision of the digital, the warmth of the hand.
